What is Solution Focused Therapy?
In short, it’s a system that achieves positive outcomes and workable solutions which can sometimes be elusive with long-form counselling and traditional therapy.
Solution Focused Therapy is an evidence-based conversational therapy that blends psychotherapy, psychology, hypnotherapy, life coaching and behavioural studies together with a focus on the outcome you want to achieve, rather than analysing the problems that drew you to seek help in the first place.
In short, you have a problem and I can help you uncover the solution.
Whilst Solutions Focussed Therapy respects your past and how that informs your present, the process places its focus on the solutions you want to achieve now, rather than on the issues of childhood or adolescence favoured by other therapies. The Solution Focused approach helps you to construct a clear vision of your preferred future and a practical strategy to work towards achieving it. In working toward this future, the problem(s) and past become more manageable and most often resolved, thus bringing a sustainable and positive change in your life experience.
Future Focused.
Solution Focused Therapy is aimed towards the preferred future in which the problem you brought to the session is fully resolved. This future focus allows you and I to work towards the day when the presenting issue is either manageable, no longer relevant, or fully resolved.
Client-Centred
The technique of Solution Focused Therapy is to set aside any preconceived ideas I may have of what is best for you, the client. It’s my role to facilitate an environment that helps you to think differently about your circumstances and what a positive future might look like. This might be through questions, suggestions, discussion or hypnosis. You are always the one who leads the session and has control over the outcome. I simply provide the space, options and solutions for you to achieve that.
Goal-Oriented
Solution Focused Therapy is not just goal-oriented, it’s life-oriented. The tools and strategies I’ll share with you will not just give you the power to resolve your immediate issues, but also give you the strength and resources to deal with problems and situations both personal and professional long into the future.

In this brief 20-minute call (either online or by telephone, whichever you prefer) we can ascertain if I am the right person to help you with your current difficulty.
Like any professional, my strength lies in certain areas, so rather than simply publish a long list, I prefer to get a feel for what the underlying issues may be by speaking with you personally. That way we both can get an idea of if we’re a good fit for each other before exploring things further.

In a one-off session we can explore the issues you are facing and put together a plan of action which will help give you clarity and perspective. If further sessions are required, you can follow on whenever you’re ready.
